28 December 1878 — Constantinople
Saturday. 28th [December 1878]. Spent the morning cutting out refugee clothes. Had a visit from our new Chaplain Mr Washington whom we took rather a fancy to. He seems young active & conciliatory. Mrs Willie Hanson came & brought her baby, my godson, to see me. She stayed lunch & then she, May, Mr Smijth & I played lawn tennis in the Court. Henry took a walk in the garden the 1st time since his laming. Visit from Kiamid B. Practised singing. The Dicksons & Mr Smijth dined with us.
