7 March 1879 — Paris | |
Friday. 7th [March 1879]. I had dressmakers &c all the morng. Lunched alone as Henry went to lunch with the Prince of Wales who was passing thro’ Paris on his way home from a tour in the South of France. In the afternoon Henry & I drove to call on the Weisweillers & we found her in. We went on to Palmaroli’s studio to see what he is about. Found him very much fallen off in style & his pictures were so vulgar & his women horrid. I would not have had one in my house. He had a rather good looking model sitting to him & he had exaggerated her undress & her looks. | |
