18 May 1879 — Therapia | |
Sunday. 18th May [1879]. Had church & communion service in the Orangery. Henry was prevented going to church by the arrival of the Nawab Ikbal ad dawlah who came down to bid us farewell before going away as he returns tomorrow for Baghdad. He lunched with us & then went off to town. At 3 we went in the 6 man caique with Alice, Mr Brand & Mr Ashburnham and called at Buyukdéré on the Condouriotis & then went & made Kef at Chibukli & came back by 6. Mr Baring, Ash: Sandison, Brand, Ct Pisani, Smijth, Lord G. Montagu, Ct de Montholon, Rustem P., Mr Gustave Schlumberger dined with us. Corti came in the evening. | |
