4 June 1879 — Therapia | |
Wednesday. 4th June [1879]. On awaking we found ourselves at Therapia. Henry & I landed at once & the others followed later. I found that the laundry maids & gardener & his family had arrived from England on last Friday & Hill had got them all settled down. Henry had to go to town to see Zichy. In the afternoon Hatzfeldt & Ittersum called. After dinner Henry & Alice & I went out to Buyukdéré to hear the band. We called at Hatzfeldts & went on to see them. They have Franchinis house large rambling & old. It used to be hired for the British Embassy years ago when Henry was first here. | |
