26 December 1879 — Constantinople | |
Friday. 26th December [1879]. Continued to cut out jackets for refugees all the morning & at 12 Mr Horace Guarracino came & carried off what I had ready. In the afternoon I went out in my chair to pay visits & only found young Mrs Maynard at home. At 5 I received as usual & had visits from Miss Sorell, Mrs Fawcett & Mrs Patterson & M. Onan. The messenger arrived today from England & also our new 1st secy Mr St John twin brother to the consul at [illegible word]. | |
