2 March 1880 — Constantinople | |
Tuesday. 2nd [March 1880]. Henry went to see the Sultan directly after breakfast & only returned to luncheon. Alice read aloud to me. I wrote a long letter to Blanche & one to Mrs Burr. I had a headache & did not go out in the afternoon but rested. Ittersum & Nicolson dined with us. Ct Corti & his friend Mr Cagnola & also Mr Oliphant came in the eveng & there was dominoes. We had met Cagnola at Venice formerly & were glad to see him. | |
