9 May 1880 — Therapia | |
Sunday. 9th May [1880]. Had morng service at 10.15. The Antelope sailors sang very well. We had a little rain in the morng wh was very welcome for the garden– Mrs A. Hanson came up. Mme Mantilla came up to lunch with us while her husband had gone up to Buyukdéré to see abt the house. It was still cold & we were glad of fires. After lunch we walked with Mme Mantilla to the landing place & put her on the steamer. Capt. & Mrs Jolliffe, Mrs Lascelles, Capt. Mann, Mr. L. Gower & Sir Alfred Sandison made up our dinner party. Mrs Lascelles slept here. | |
