4 June 1880 — En route to Venice | |
Friday. 4th [June 1880]. Got up at 11 & laid in a long chair on deck. It was perfectly smooth & fine. Abt 2 ock there was a curious rainbow round the sun wh they say betokens wind. Was able to dine down—& in the eveng Henry & Mr Ashburnham, Mr Nicolson & I played dominoes on deck. | |
