25 July 1880 — Motcombe House, nr. Shaftesbury, Dorset | |
Sunday. 25th [July 1880]. I walked by Lady Westminster’s chair to the Village church near—& then back again I walked home with her. In the afternoon Henry & I sat out in the garden together & walked round the place. It was nice & hot in the sun. At 5 we had tea in the tent & Lady W., Theo & Merthyr came out—then the latter went to church & we sat with the old lady. After dinner Merthyr & I sang hymns together—then he read eveng prayers after wh we sang hymns again till quite late. | |
