22 August 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 22nd [August 1880]. My 3rd bath. I had a headache & kept in my room all day. Henry breakfasted at home. Towards afternoon there was a thunderstorm & I got better & came down to the boudoir to tea—& then we dined with Malcolm at 6.30. Afterwards we went down the canal to see the serenade—a coloured boat with the civic band & coloured Bengal lights—then home to bed– | |
