23 August 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 23rd August [1880]. My 4th bath. Altho’ the weather seemed threatening Henry & I went off to the Lido. After breakfast we went into the curtain question & arranged where they were to be put. We breakfasted at 11. Henry went to see Brown. I had a visit from Sormani Moretti the Prefect an old friend of ours. Went out on foot with Giovanni & Henry to look in the old shops for some cornices for curtains—found none. Went out in gondola with Henry & went to the glass Murano shop. Dined at home. Very fair dinner. Went out to Piazza & had ices. | |
