24 August 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 24th [August 1880]. Got up late– Read in bed– Arranged & unpacked & played the piano. Mr Brown called– There was a thunderstorm in the afternoon– Henry went out when it was over– We dined at 7 & as it lightened & a storm seemed imminent we gave up going out & set to play dominoes till bed time. Mr Malcolm went away to the country today. | |
