10 October 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 10th October [1880]. I did not go to church. We had a very wet day. After luncheon the Drakes came & Mr & Mrs & 2 Miss Grahams came to tea & to see our pictures. Mr G. is a connoisseur & his daughters are intelligent but artistic & untidy in dress. The old lady was feeble but I showed her round the house. The Drakes & Mr Malcolm dined with us. After dinner as I had a headache I went off to bed. | |
