22 October 1880 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 22nd October [1880]. Wrote letters. Ella came in the morning & we worked at arranging & putting away my old lace. She stayed to luncheon & afterwards Sir Wm came & we all went out to the Stabilimento to see the glass that is going to be sent to England. There were some very fine imitations of antique raised gold figures placed between the glass. It began to rain so we went home. Lady Bagot & Mrs Alexander Bagot called, but the weather was so dark they could not see the pictures. Gave them tea & they promised to return tomorrow. The Drakes dined with us. We went to walk on the Piazza in the eveng & hear the band play.
