21 December 1880 — Naples | |
Tuesday. 21st [December 1880]. While we were still at breakfast Castellani came and arranged to meet Henry at the Museum at 12.30. I did not go having rather a headache. Henry took me later for a walk and we went round the quay & were astonished to find all the alterations—the hotel Victoria disappeared—a new quay & several built & a great French hotel. We walked a good way & then took a cab back to the Hotel. We dined at the table d’hôte. | |
