7 June 1881 — 3 Savile Row
Tuesday. 7th June [1881]. I went out in the brougham at 11 to do some shopping for Blanche & I went on to ½ Moon St to see Gertie Clay Ker Seymer– I got there abt 12.30 & found her not quite dressed & had a chat with her while she breakfasted & then returned home to my luncheon. I did not go out again & so Henry went in the brougham to call on Mr Redhouse. Nety Montagu came to tea & also Blanche—& then Mrs White & her daughter & later Mme Castellani. Ella Drake came before luncheon & brought me lovely roses from Oatlands to adorn our dinner table. We had Signor Castellani & his wife, Sir Wm & Miss Drake, Mr Perkins, Mrs Newton, Mr Burton, Sir Wm Gregory & Arthur & had a very nice little dinner. Castellani & Sir Wm Gregory sat on each side of me.
