2 August 1881 — Hull | |
Tuesday. 2nd [August 1881]. Breakfasted at 9 & went by 10.15 train to London with Henry & Monty. Genl. Hankey remained a few more hours at Hull. On arriving at Savile Row we were greeted by Jerry who had arrived 3 weeks before from Consple. I found also we had no cook, Susan Hambro had sent for her cook on her return to London. Blanche came to tea & Sir Collingwood & Lady Dickson called to see us & have tea. Merthyr also came on his way to Tunworth to buy horses. Arthur came later & then Monty returned from the House of Commons & we 3 dined at home on something prepared for us by Mrs Ash. | |
