15 November 1881 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 15th November [1881]. A hard day’s work at Cortelazzo’s bust. Mr Burton came & gave me advice & I worked all day only stopping for luncheon. Connie & Charlie went out in the morng to see some churches with Mr Burton. The girls went out with Idita. Connie had such a headache she stayed in in the afternoon & rested on the sofa of the studio. Mr Malcolm called & came upstairs to the studio– He promised to dine here tomorrow. Mme Hurtado, Idita & Mme Olga Mocenigo came to tea & Mr Burton. We dined at 7 & then Henry, Connie, Charlie & the girls went to the Opera to hear Linda de Chamounix. I sat & talked a little while to Burton & Cortelazzo & then went off early to bed. | |
