12 June 1882 — En route to Christiania (Oslo)
Monday. 12th June [1882]. Towards morning the weather improved & I began to be quieter. We were 12 hours late on arriving at Frederickshaven abt 1 o’cl. Henry, Hill & I went on shore while the Captain was discharging & taking in cargo we went to a little inn called Hotel Daima where we had a very good table d’hôte only I was too upset to be able to take much. We returned to the ship & went to sleep despite the noise of the donkey engine. We started again abt 5 & I remained on deck with Henry lying down till abt 8 when there began to be a little rolling & I went below. I was sick just when I moved but afterwards had a pretty good night.
