6 December 1882 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 6th December [1882]. I returned to painting my fan & Maria read some of the In Memoriam to me but it was so depressing that I could not bear it & she had to stop. After 5 o’cl tea I practised the harmonium. Malcolm dined with us. In the eveng Mme Pilat & Signor Dini, Olga Mocenigo & Css Canevaro came & we practised away all the evening & Mme Canevaro sang with us & it was very pleasant. | |
