Saturday. 10th March [1883]. Directly after lunch I went out with Henry to the National Portrait Gallery. It was very interesting & there are some fine portraits by Reynolds & Raeburn who to me is a new painter– They struck me very much. We dined with M. & Mme Blumenthal & met the Wentworths, Mr & Mrs Millais, Mr Clare Ford, P. & Pss Ghika, the Henry Reeves &c. I sat next P. Ghika. | |
