28 March 1883 — 3 Savile Row | |
Wednesday. 28th March [1883]. Wrote all the morning. Maria lunched with me. The Rates’ carriage took us out in the afternoon. Took Henry to the Nat. Gallery with Merthyr’s picture to be repaired (the triptych by Memling). Maria went shopping with me & then took a cab & went to the station to go home. I went down to Onslow Gardens to see Connie & she was at home. We went to dine with the Rates & found her ill in bed. I sat with her after dinner. | |
