14 June 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 14th June [1883]. Fernando came & replanted the boxes outside the belvidere & I was with him a long time seeing to all the gardening. At 12 Lady Bagot came for an hour. I had a headache & did not go out with Henry who took the Sharps & Van Haanen to Murano. I laid down on the sofa in my room. Idita came at 4.30 & we had tea– Later Mme Hurtado came & they persuaded me to go out with them. We went to the Brazzoduro garden & bought two large oleanders for the side of our front door. Henry & I went out in gondola after dinner, fetched Lady Bagot & went out for some fresh air. cribbage.
