30 November 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 30th November [1883]. Olga came & sat– Lovely day. Miss Bronson came & Signor Negri gave us our guitar lesson. Signor Orsi came also to play some of his songs wh Negri noted down for our future use. Miss Bronson stayed to lunch & we chose out the church music afterwards. When she had left I went upstairs & did accounts but was soon interrupted by Emily R who came to tell me she liked her room at the new hotel & I sent her back in our gondola when Henry returned. Lady Bellingham Graham & her gd daughter Mlle Feyle de Pheile came to call & stayed to 5 o’cl T. There were the same curious lights in the sky tonight as last night. Sr Orsi came in to tea & when the Grahams went we practised over our songs & were interrupted by Mr Horatio Brown who came to call. Today being Andriana’s names’ day I telegraphed to her to Rome. After dinner we all 3 went to the Canevaro’s but Ersilia had a sore throat & cd not sing. The Mocenigos of Sta Stae were there. We came home early.
