3 December 1883 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 3rd December [1883]. Olga came & sat to me– I had a visit from Miss St Clair but she did not stay as I was just beginning my guitar lesson with Miss Bronson & we played till luncheon. Henry woke with a cold & remained in bed till 10. I breakfasted alone. It was a chilly & rather foggy day. After lunch it cleared a little and Henry & I went out in the gondola. We went to Stabto & then to S. Moisé & walked to the Piazza. Met Mrs Bronson & Browning walking there. The latter told us he was to leave Venice on Satr next so we begged him & his sister & Mrs Bronson to come & dine with us on Thursday wh they promised to do. We went home early. T in the studio & Mrs Forbes Brown came & stayed some time. Dined in the library– Cribbage. Early to bed–
