11 January 1884 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 11th January [1884]. No Olga—so I worked at statuettes, having begun a second one. At 11.30 Miss Bronson came & we played guitar together till lunch– Negri never came. After lunch Henry took the Bruce’s to Murano. I went across to enquire after Olga Mocenigo & walked on to the Edens & sat with Carry. Emily R came to call there & when Henry fetched me I brought her home to tea. Modelled till dinner time. Ct & Css Canevaro came to dine. After dinner we sat in the studio & the whist went on in the library. Css Valmarana came & also Dr Simcola & Signor Lazzari. They remained playing till 12– I modelled while talking to Ersilia. | |
