Wednesday. 27th February [1884]. Ash Wednesday. I went to church at St George’s Hanover Sqr & coming out met Ivor & Cornelia & walked up Bond St with them & then returned home to lunch. I drove out in the afternoon & when I came home to tea I found Mrs Bagot waiting for me. She stayed to tea and was very amusing & talkative. We dined at Lady Constance Shaw Lefevre’s in Bryanston Sqr & met Mr & Mrs Thompson Hankey, Sir Farrar & Lady Herschel & Mr & Mrs Arthur Birch. | |
