Wednesday. 5th March [1884]. Henry’s birthday. I walked out in the morning & took Blanche out shopping & then returned home to lunch. Maria lunched here. Henry went to the city. Maria & I drove in the afternoon, left cards & came home to tea. Mrs Kay & Miss Drummond, Mrs Austin (Temmy), Sir J. de Gex & Miss Barbara Lyall came to tea. We dined with Sir Wm & Miss Drake & met a great many people I did not know. Boehm the sculptor & his wife & daughter & Lady Inchiquin were the only people I knew there. | |
