9 March 1884 — 3 Savile Row
Sunday. 9th March [1884]. Still feeling very unwell—got up but did not go out to my disappointment as Henry & I had meant to go to church. Mr Rate & Margie came before lunch and also Blanche & Edward & Cornelia & Francie. The latter carried off Henry to lunch at Hamilton House. I sat at home all day. Mrs Hill who was Eliza Dean our old still room maid at Canford when we were children came to see me. She was very pretty & sleight & is now enormously fat. She was delighted to see me & cried for joy. Ivor came also to see me & Henry returned from paying visits. I could not eat today.
