31 August 1884 — Borgo Vico, Como | |
Sunday. 31st August [1884]. After lunch I went with Mme d’Adda to pay a visit to Mme d’Adda. We went there in the boat but it is only a little way off. I had arranged to go out fishing with D. Juanito but it was very hot & as there was no prospect of catching anything—& I did not feel very well, I gave it up & remained upstairs resting & reading till dinner. After dinner D. Carlo gave me a lesson in boccete. There was some singing as the Resta family came in the evening. | |
