6 October 1884 — Bologna | |
Monday. 6th October [1884]. We had to give up our intention of going to spend the day at Ferrara, on account of the rain– I did not go out in the morning. Henry & Morelli went out together & returned to lunch at 12. We lunched at the Restaurant. At 1 M. & Mme Minghetti came to call & Donna Laura remained with us & we went together into the Duomo to look at the pictures there & then we walked to some antiquary shops; at one I saw some fine embroideries wh we would have tried to buy but that the owner was away & cd not be found, & so we went back to the hotel & Donna Laura went home. Dined at 6.30. Morelli & Henry made notes. Cribbage. | |
