31 October 1884 — Florence | |
Friday. 31st October [1884]. We left by 7 o’cl train & went to Venice getting there at 4.20. Mr Malcolm sent us a gondola which he hired for us for the week we are to be here. Had tea—unpacked. Went to dine with the Edens at 7.30 & met there Mr Malcolm. As we had got up at 5 we were tired & went home early. | |
