10 November 1884 — Paris | |
Monday. 10th [November 1884]. Arrived at Paris 10.50 instead of at 7.50 as we had expected. Luckily we had the Etna & I made some tea. There is so little traffic now from Turin that 3 trains had been merged into 1 & got in at 10.50. Belard met us & we went to Hotel St Romain & had a dejeuner à la fourchette & after resting a little I went off to the dressmaker’s to order my garments. We dined at 7 & went early to bed. Dacre came in while we were at dinner for a few minutes. His father & mother are coming over to meet us but neither he nor we know when. | |
