1 January 1885 — Inwood, Henstridge, Somerset
Thursday. 1st January 1885. Theo sent me a present of a silver sugar tongs. She was laid up in bed with a bad cold. Merthyr went out Hunting & Henry & I went to the meet at Sherborne Park. It was a bitter cold day & the wind was biting. Having seen the hounds after a fox & then seen the fox quietly trotting away in an opposite direction we gladly gave up the chase & returned home to lunch with Lady Westr.
