23 January 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Friday. 23rd January [1885]. Drove out at 12 to the Gregorys & fetched Sir Wm we went to Hamptons to see carpets & then to 30 St James St to see glass—on to Watson’s in Bond St to see more carpets—to a fur shop to buy a fur rug & then home to lunch. Afterwards Henry went out with Sir Wm & I walked to Blanches’. She was just going out so Edward & I took a walk & did some shopping. I was in at 5. Mr & Mrs Poynter, Sir F. Burton, Mr Gayangos, Mr Newton, & Mr Fergusson dined with us. Mr Poynter & I played an interminable game of billiards wh sent all the company to sleep. | |
