14 February 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Saturday. 14th February [1885]. Sat for my portrait for the last time. Mrs Drummond & Mrs Kay came to see us at 11.30 & I showed them our house. At 1 I went off to see Mama & found her a good deal better. I wrote some letters for her & then hastened back to lunch. At our door I met Alice who was with Annie Murray & I made the latter come in to lunch with us. She left directly after & I returned to sit to Mr Vigor. At 3 Henry & I drove out together to Kilburn Priory to call on Mr & Mrs Redhouse. We saw them both & found Mr R. very failing but she perked up when she heard we were there & insisted upon seeing us & talked of Lord Stratford & Consple in old days. Henry walked home & I went to Lady Gregory but she was out so I returned home at 5– Then I went off to have tea with Blanche & sat with her working & chatting till 7. Returned home, dressed & went down to dinner. Connie & Charlie, Mr & Mrs Rate, Mr Wylde & Mr Alfred Burton dined with—billiards & music in the evening.
