15 February 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Sunday. 15th February [1885]. Alice & I went to morng service at St Georges Hanover Sqr. It was raining as we went but afterwards it cleared. Before lunch I went to see Mama who was better & up. Returned home to luncheon. Connie lunched with us. Mr Clark came to call & said Mrs Clark had been dangerously ill but was better– Sir Wm Drake came also & Mr Cartwright of the F.O. & Mr Hallam Murray. Later Annie Murray came & stayed to tea. Henry went out to pay some visits but returned to tea. Hobart P. came to see him & to talk over a letter on the Soudan wh Henry had written & was going to send to the Times. Edward P. came to see me & sat some time, by dinner time Henry had written, copied out & sent off his letter to the Times. Alice & I made cigarettes after dinner & I played the harmonium. | |
