Tuesday. 10th [March 1885]. Henry, Mr Cartwright & I came up to town by 1.30. Maria lunched with us & then she & I drove to Dick Radcliffes to inquire about a wardian case Maria wants to buy & then we did some shopping returning at 5 to tea. Maria remained here the night; but went to dine at the Keith’s. Henry dined at Sir Henry Thompson’s octave & I went to dine with Blanche who was alone & I came home early to bed. | |
