11 March 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Wednesday. 11th March [1885]. Mr Vigor came & I sat for my picture all the morning. After lunch I drove with Henry to the Natural Histy Museum where we were met by Professor Flower & he showed us over the museum. We happened to meet Lord Stanhope there & he accompanied us most of the time. Home to tea. Mrs Tom Taylor & her daughter came to tea & also Lady Dickson who having been ill all the winter made her first visit today. Mr Victor Drummond called & it was rather late before I set off to go & see Mrs Watkins, Sir Thompson’s daughter & I got home in time to dress & go to dine with Lady Marian Alford. Met there Lord Fortescue, Lord Northampton, Lady Margaret & Mr Graham, Mr Hatford.
