Monday. 4th May [1885]. A day of scurry & packing & shopping. Alice drove with me in the afternoon—I went to bid Alice Rate good bye & returned home to tea. We dined with Mama & met Constance & her girl Bee, Maria, Richard & Alice, Blanche & Edward & took leaves of each other as Henry & I start tomorrow for Venice. | |
