Sunday. 3rd May [1885]. Merthyr started off for Inwood directly after breakfast. Maria came in & proposed that we should go to church together & she took me to their pew in the big church in Marylebone road which is in course of redecoration & is a handsome edifice. I did not go out again & several people came to call & bid us good bye amongst whom were Sir George Dasent, Mr Murray & his son Hallam, Maria & Richard & Alice. Henry & I dined with Sir William & Miss Drake & met Mr Underdown a Viennese & young Drake– Was very tired & glad to get home. | |
