6 August 1885 — Cortina | |
Thursday. 6th August [1885]. We left Cortina early & drove to Toblach where we took the train. To our pleasure & surprise at the station we met the Canevaros (the Ct & Css—Maria Cozzi & the 2 boys) & we went together to Inspruck. We found the grand tir fête being prepared & the place crammed. The Emperor is expected tomorrow & the town is alive with soldiers, flags, banners &c. Henry & I got rooms at the Hotel Tirol. The Canevaros found rooms at the Europe. After dinner they came to bid us good bye—as they go tomorrow to Salzburg. | |
