14 August 1885 — Rosenlaui | |
Friday. 14th [August 1885]. I went to sketch in the morning with Lord Monkswell who was painting in oils. After lunch he took Henry for a walk & I went to the glacier chalet with Mr & Mrs Ball. We had got to the chalet quite safely & were going over some smooth rocks when suddenly Mrs Ball fell & when we lifted her we found she had hurt her ancle. We rubbed it & got her to a seat at the chalet & then Mr Ball went off to the hotel to get men with a chair to carry her down & I remained with her & we waited abt ¾ hour till the chair came & she was safely carried down & got to her room. | |
