11 October 1885 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 11th October [1885]. I went to church & sent on Mrs Ball to S. Marks. We had a good sermon from a stranger. Sent our kitchen woman to the hospital today on Cini’s recommendation. Mrs Ball was out lunching with her sister. Took a row with Henry & left him at Genl de Horseys. I went to call on Mrs Bronson who was out– I met Mrs Forbes Brown in gondola & she got into mine & I took her home & then fetched Henry home. Mrs Ball brought her sister Mrs Talbot & her daughter to tea. Genl & Mrs Maxwell, Miss Maxwell & her brother also came to tea. Count Seckendorff & Mlle de Gersdorff dined with us. I played the harmonium all evening.
