Friday. 16th October [1885]. I wrote a lot of letters. Miss Maxwell came to see me in the morning. Henry went out before luncheon. Mr Vigor came as I had sent for him to say Lord Hammond wants his portrait painted. Capt. Fraser of the P&O & his wife came to call. Sir Wm & Lady Gregory & Sir Frederic Burton came by the evening train from Milan. Henry went to meet them—& we dined abt 8 as soon as they had arrived. | |
