2 December 1885 — Paris
Wednesday. 2nd [December 1885]. Dacre fetched me at 12 & we went together to the Bon Marche to buy a cloak for Maria & came back to luncheon late—i.e. nearly 2. While we were at coffee M. Mallet came to call. At 3 Henry & I walked off to the Embassy to call on Mr Atlee. Close to the Embassy we met him & he walked with us to the door of Michaud’s where Henry & I went in to decide what my court train was to be. After rejecting the fashionable colour green we decided on black velvet with a black lace dress. We walked home round by the Palais Royal. Col. Villiers came to see us. Dacre dined with us at our hotel.
