Tuesday. 1st December [1885]. Henry & I took a walk in the afternoon to the Louvre Picture gallery & took a hasty run through it. Noticed a picture by Cosimo Rosselli of the Triumph of David not half so pretty as the one I copied at Florence—containing another figure. David is short & wanting in dignity—one can hardly believe them both by the same hand. We walked to the dressmakers in the Bd des Capucines. Dined at 7 & went to the theatre to join the Weisweillers who had taken a box to see “L’age Ingrat.” An amusing play. | |
