8 December 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Tuesday. 8th [December 1885]. Maria came to breakfast & sat a long time telling me all abt Alice’s engagement &c. I unpacked & arranged my things. Edward Ponsonby came abt 12 to take us to look at our own stables at the horses he had chosen for us & the landeau we had ordered– He had kindly arranged & set up our stables for us & engaged our coachman & helper. After luncheon I went to see Blanche & arranged to drive with her. I walked to see Mama at Langham House & B called for me & we drove together & I returned home at 5. Alice & Hallam Murray came to tea & afterwards I went to see Susan Hambro. Henry & I dined with Maria & after dinner I went up to Alice’s room & had a long talk with her till it was time to come home. Richard was away. Mama dined there too. | |
