9 December 1885 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Wednesday. 9th [December 1885]. Directly after breakfast I went round to see Blanche & found her at breakfast. After a long political talk with Edward I wrote list of stores with Blanche’s help & returned home abt 12– Annie Murray came to see me. Henry & I drove out for the first time in our new carriage. We went to call on Lady Eastlake who was at home very well—tho’ she cannot walk—& very kind & pleasant. Henry walked home from there. I went to Mansfield St to fetch Susan Hambro & then to tea with Maria at 25 Pk Crescent & stayed there an hour. My brother Arthur came there also & came home with me & sat talking. Blanche & Mamma dined with us. | |
