1 April 1886 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Thursday. 1st April [1886]. I walked out in the morning with Blanche to see the collection of Millais’ pictures at the Grosvenor Gallery & was much disappointed with them. The two portraits of Ld Salisbury & Sir Henry Thompson struck me as very fine. We walked on to Holman Hunt’s exhibition of abt 25 of his pictures– The Scape goat impressed me—altho’ the colouring of all are so hard & quaint. I went on to the kitchen to help at the dinners & only got home for luncheon– Drove with Henry in the afternoon. Dined at home.
